Chapter 201
Madeline got goosebumps on her arms. She quickly pulled away and kept a certain distance from Eugene
Eugene’s eyes showed an injured look. He wondered, ‘So, to Madeline, is Gavin really more important? He looked at Gavin, lost in thought
With a serious expression. Gavin said. “Madeline, go upstairs first. I want to talk to him alone,”
Madeline couldn’t be happier to hear this, sighed in relict, and turned to leave. Before leaving, she didn’t forget to grab a hot drink.
After eating her fill, she just wanted to quietly return to her room to watch TV. Once it was late enough, she would sleep. It would be best if those two guys didn’t involve her in their problems.
Madeline hurried away, wishing she could sprint out of the drama. Gavin only looked at Eugene after Madeline disappeared from sight.
Eugene moved away from his earlier husband–like demeanor, resting his hands casually on the pool’s edge with a mysterious half–smile on his face His eyes were full of confidence and energy.
“What is it? I can’t accept sharing Madeline with you,” He said while picking up a strawberry and biting its tip off.
Gavin snorted, his tone unfriendly. The twelve of us made an agreement long ago not to force Madeline into anything. When she wanted to leave Phantom Organization earlier, we promised not to disturb her until she was an adult. Most importantly, we absolutely can’t manipulate her feelings before she turns 20′′
Eugene furrowed his brows
slightly, a bit puzzled. “Yeah, I never manipulated her feelings. We’re engaged
Gavin looked completely disdainful. “You can trick Madeline, but do you really believe it yourself? You’re engaged? Back then, we were all living in danger. Who had time to arrange an engagement for you? Is it just a verbal agreement or your imagination?”
Eugene didn’t get upset, maintaining a calm demeanor as if he was Madeline’s husband. There’s a lot you don’t know, so it’s best not to deny it directly
He chuckled sofily. “After all, a person’s abilities are limited. You can’t possibly know everything”
Gavin clicked his tongue and shook his head dismissively. “Tell me. What are you up to! The twelve of us are just acquaintances. If you mess with Maddie, I won’t forgive you!”
Eugene met his Berce gaze and then looked away
y Tm not lying. You can go a
can go ask Mrs. Larson yourself. And..
Eugene became a bit more serious. “Even though I’m easygoing. I won’t let everything slide. If you dare bring my fiancée to such places again, Ill break your legs.”
Gavin laughed instead of getting angry, thinking, ‘It’s not clear who will break whose legs. Maybe I’ll even break Eugene’s dick one day.
One of them believed he was Madeline’s boyfriend. The other believed he was Madeline’s fiance. It was impossible for die two to get along. They only clashed, always getting on each other’s nerves.
Now, the tension was so thick. It felt like they could start fighting at any moment. From upstairs, Madeline opened the window and shouted. “You two can argue all you want, but don’t fight!” After giving her instructions, she closed the window and climbed into bed to rest.
Eugene squinted and smiled, “Since Madeline said so, I’ll let you go.”
Gavin neered. Even though he was really annoyed, he listened to Madeline.
Besides, Gavin knew there was nothing going on between Madeline and Eugene. Yet Eugene was too shrewd, so Gavin was wary of him.
Gavin shifted his gaze, thinking, “He’s just a bluffer. 1 will never fall for it. I trust Maddie. She definitely won’t like someone so flashy!
Eugene sipped his drink slowly. When a video call popped up on his phone, he casually answered it
“Hey, Mr. Sharp, are you coming back? There are lots of girls waiting for you, and you just left like that?”
“Yeah, Mr. Sharp, who are you in the hot spring with? Your fiancee?”
“Mr. Sharp totally forgot us. Bet he be busy all night with his fiancée
The guys laughed, carefree and reckless.
Eugene slightly moved the pho
phone camera. “Take a look.”
The people on the other end of the line were surprised. “You’re in the hot spring with a guy? That’s too weird”

“Wait, that guy is on vacation with Mr. Sharp’s fiancée. Mr. Sharp’s so generous!”
“Indeed. He’s in the hot spring with that guy. If I were Mr. Sharp, I would’ve slapped him.”
Eugene tutted. “In a civilized society, a good woman is always attractive. It’s normal for her to have many admirers.”
His words left everyone else speechless. After all, many guys were playing the field. That was just how this circle was. But Eugene was really different from them
After ending the video call, Gavin sneered, “You were in a hot spring with girls! No wonder you got here so fast. You’re such a hypocrite.”
Eugene tilted his head with a cheeky grin. “Me? Just mingling. I play around, but I don’t get attached.”
Gavin said, “You’re despicable!”
Eugene saw no reason to explain, thinking, ‘As long as I know I’m not sleeping around, that is enough.
Gavin usually had a calm demeanor. However, when it came to Madeline, he easily lost his temper.
Eugene found it really amusing and joked, “You’ve got real feelings for Madeline, huh? Maybe I’ll think about giving you a junior role.” “Scram!” Gavin snapped.
Time passed bit by bit. The winter night came quickly, but the snow–covered ground made it look as bright as day.
In the distance, they could occasionally hear the sounds of snow falling from branches and bamboo creaking under the weight.
The quiet night made sleeping feel extra cozy. Madeline warily locked her door before sleeping worried that those guys might corne during the night.
After a good amount of binge–watching, she started feeling sleepy. She curled up under the blanket and slept soundly.
At the doorway, Gavin stood for a moment. Seeing that Eugene was staying in his room quietly without causing any trouble, he finally relaxed.
Around the corner, Eugene stood with his arms crossed, leaning against the wall. “Wow, he’s so alert. He’s even keeping my wife under such tight watch. Boring. Fine, I might as well go to sleep. Eugene yawned and headed back to his room.
After Gavin returned, he took out a black phone and checked the messages. A new mission came. He thought. That’s terrible.
Out of the twelve, he was best at chemistry, which allowed him to create many advanced things. He also had quite a few subordinates. They formed a whole department.
Sometimes he would give the regular tasks to his team, but when it came to the challenging ones, he would handle them himself.
“Shit, why now?” he complained
