A sense of guilt had overtaken me after knowing Noah had not slept a wink and sat outside our house all night.
“Go home,” I told him after breakfast without looking at him..
My brothers refrained from saying anything.
They refrained from showing approval or disapproval in Noah’s presence. I was sure it was in deference to the triplets.
They wanted Riley, Brixx, and Mason to spend time with and get to know their father.
I do, too.
Whatever happened to Noah and I in the past does not involve the children.
After feeding the children, Noah helped bathe them. The triplets, as usual, played in the tub. When Noah emerged from the bathroom, he was dripping wet.
I got out of the children’s room to borrow clothes from Marcus since they were of the same height and form.

In all those years, I never had anyone. My focus had always been on the children and my career.
“Here take this,” I said, without looking at him, and proceeded to dry Riley’s hair.
Noah placed the clothes on the bed and helped me dry the triplets.
When they were clothed, that was the only time Noah took the clothes.I gave him and went to the bathroom to change.
When he returned, the kids looked up from what they were doing.

Marcus had a pictorial shoot. Charles and Jenna had plans, so watching over the children landed on Rowan and Flint.
My two brothers did not complain, though.
“Goodbye, kids. “I kissed the top of their heads before going out of their room.
“When is Daddy coming back?” Riley asked.
“As soon as he gets rested,” I told them and got out.
Hooked around before I got inside my car, feeling a little bit apprehensive.
“It’s weird, but I feel like someone’s watching.” I told the driver when we drove from the house.
I could not shake this eerie feeling that I was being spied on.
I sighed because a quick look at my surroundings assured me no one was there. No shadows are lurking in the shadows, either.
Martina was already at her desk when I arrived.
“Briana.” She called me when I passed by her desk.
She then handed me some notes.
“The financial reports are already on your desk.” She told me.
I thanked her and went inside my room, where I stayed cooped up. At lunchtime, Martina knocked on my door.
“Do you need anything?” I looked up from the document I was reading.
“I’m going out for lunch. You want a takeout?” She asked.
“No,” I said, shaking my head, and watched Martina as she waved me goodbye.
The door closed, and I yawned, leaning my head on the back of my seat.
Last night was a restless night. My sleep was fitful because I was thinking of Noah and our situation..
it was the reason I woke up later than the kids. And this morning was of no help when I saw him in the kitchen and the triplets surrounding him.

Riley, Brixx, and Mason looked happler when he was around.
My office phone rings. When I picked it up, it was Dolly from the reception.
“Ms. Ford, Miss Britney White is here to see you.” She informed me.
“What does she want?” I asked.
There was silence on the line. Dolly must be asking Britney about her business with

Dolly came back on the line. “She said it’s personal.”
I sucked in a breath. “Okay, show her to my office,” I instructed and went to the bathroom to check myself while I walted for Britney’s arrival.
