Chapter 0180
There was already a fine layer of sweat on my skin afte. got dressed. When I walked past the mirror, I was shocked by my pained. and pale expression.
I quickly calmed myself down. I knew I couldn’t show up in front of these people who hated me and let them see me in such a state. That would be no different from me humiliating myself.
I slowed down and eventually stopped. My first priority should not be confronting Nicholas, but rather handling the situation online.
Turning on my phone, I opened my Instagram and checked my comments section. As expected, it was in shambles.
From their profile pictures, it was clear that most of them were Zachary’s fans. Yasmine herself had entered my comment section and began arguing with them.
“If you can’t prove that the woman in the picture was her, then you’re slandering her. If you can prove that she’s the woman in the photo, then that’s proof itself that you’ve committed a crime!”
But her voice was quickly drowned out, and she was quickly dragged into the mess as well.
“Ariana is such a frivolous woman. I’m sure her friends are no better than her.”
“You’re right. There’s probably a high chance that her friend has also taken such photos. Do any of you know a hacker? Have someone hack into their phones!”
“I am willing to pay a high price for their nudes. Since they’re friends, they might as well strip down together!”
I sighed. I could never understand why women were able to say such cruel things to another woman
Without hesitation, I called the police. The department at monitored cybercrime had promised to delete those photos of me. After giving it some thought, I decided to make a post on Instagram
I wrote, “This is one of the oldest and most effective ways of targeting a woman. It can lead to the ruining of a woman’s social life. It exploits a woman’s sense of shame, taking away their ability to defend themselves.
“Even if they could defend themselves, the shame and attacks would only take a turn for the worse.
“But as a lawyer myself, I would like to quote one of my seniors here. That is just a body. There’s no need to be ashamed of it, and it is not dirty!
“I will use the law to protect myself and pursue this matter to the end. If you or anyone you know is facing a similar experience or is being threatened, please contact me. I will protect you! #JayCaldwell &Co #Law #Slander #WhatToDoWhen YouveBeenSlandered.”
I posted a small advertisement for the law firm and waited for the photos to slowly disappear from the internet.
Although I know there was a high chance that the photo had been saved by people with ulterior motives, it was much better than before
I sighed in relief. My clothes were dre ed in my sweat, and my head was spinning.
Yasmine sent me a thumbs–up emoji, while I brushed it off
nonchalantly and asked her to help the compile thee ence. Then, I went to eat something before going back to sleep.
But how could I not care about what had happened?
In my dreams, I wasn’t able to calm myself down as I had in reality. No one could understand what I experienced in that short hour.
I trembled helplessly as I faced anger and criticism from strangers. I had even become the fantasies of Certain men, while countless others would look at me with cruel and perverted gazes.
I had tried to hide behind Nicholas, But he had pushed me out and exposed me to the harsh reality of my dream.
With a dark expression, Nicholas scolded me and told me that I had deserved it for disregarding his father’s health.
When I woke up the next day, my pillow was soaked with tears. I calmed my emotions and forced myself to be strong, hoping that I would not lose my composure when I confronted him later.
