Why was it considered niche? The directors and films invited were not widely known and could be described as obscure. While Linda wasn’t completely unknown, her work fell under the niche categories.
She had a significant reason for attending this event. Nowadays, many young people have started showing interest in obscure things. In fact, some even preferred things that weren’t popular simply because they felt they were less mainstream.
This end had been well–known and understandable among the youth.
Linda chose to attend the festival both to boost the ratings of her previous film and to generate buzz for her upcoming film.

Lina was used to attending glamorous award ceremonies with her talents. Seeing an event that resembled a modest wedding was quite a shock for her.

Most of her social circle consisted of industrial giants. Directors in Linda’s category were rarely famous, and Lina wasn’t keen on mingling with them. Directors typically had their agendas, and their constant approaches meant they were looking

“I’m not interested in becoming someone else’s resource pool,” Lina added.
“So, do you think our work has a chance of winning any awards? Linda asked.
“Who am I supposed to ask about that? I don’t know the organizers well, and they don’t tell me in advance who will win or not,” Lina replied.
Lina was speaking the truth. At the more prominent festivals, she might have known the award winners ahead of time, but for such a niche event, even the organizers were unspecified, making it impossible to predict winners.
