The starter was some mixed vegetable soup which tasted nice, the main course was sirloin steak, like both of us liked it. She put some salad next to mine, and Gideon got some tries too. The dessert was some jelly with fruits for me, and lemon cheesecake for Gideon. I have to admit that I was impressed. She did not just make healthy and tasty food, but she also knew that I eat differently from Gideon.

“Mine was delicious too.” Gideon added.
Somehow, her smile was more honest when Gideon thanked her, but I tried to ignore this kind of thinking.
When six o’clock finally came, and we had dinner, she tidied the kitchen up, and that was the time for her to leave. I felt much better when she shut the door behind her. I watched her from the window while she sat in her car and she drove out of our yard.
“What are you doing, Alice?” Gideon’s voice made me jump. I put my hand on my chest.
“Nothing. I just watched her leave.”
He smiled while frowned.
“Why?”
“I don’t know, Gideon. I may be paranoid, but there is something about her I don’t like.”
He pulled me closer and hugged me.
“Alice, both my father and your father checked everything about her. They would have found something if there would be something to find.” *True.” I said while I leaned my head on his chest
“Just give her time. You might like her later. If not, then we are going to look for someone else. Okay?
I nodded, then I lifted my head up, as I just remembered something.

I exhaled while I put my head back on his chest.
“You know Alice, probably Leah is thinking the same, and if I help him, both of us can be home earlier.”

“Riccardo’s people are all around the house. Nothing can happen, okay?”
I looked at and I smiled.
He smiled back at me, then he kissed my lips lightly
“Come on, loe queen, I have to put you in bed.” I laughed at this sentence. No one ever called me like that.
We walked up into the bedroom, and he literally put me into bed. He laid next to me and kept me in his arms. He set his alarms on just in case he would
fall asleep, and feeling his arms around me, smelling his nice scented perfume which he always used, made me fall asleep soon,
My alarm woke me up. It was still dark. I was sad to find the place next to me empty. I got up, and when I checked my phone, a message made me

I finished in the bathroom, and I just had my morning shake when I called him.

“I’m sure I’ll miss you as well. It will be weint to sleep alone.”

“What time are you coming home?”
“Soon, I’m afraid we’ll just miss each other. But probably tomorrow I’ll be at home when you get up.”
“That would be nice. Have you had a busy night?”
“Yes, very busy, so I don’t think I will have any problem falling asleep,”
“Just sleep as early as you can, so you can be up with me after I finish my training.”
“Yes, I will.”
I just looked at the clock, and I realised I must leave.
“Gideon, I have to leave now.”
“Yeah, I know, just drive carefully. Okay?”
“Yes, you too.”
He laughed.
“Okay. Have a good training. If that witch is torturing you again, call me, understand?”
I laughed this time.

He hung up, and I rushed to my car.
The training was not that hard. Beth looked happier, and soon I got to know the reason. After I won the ISU America, I was invited to a sports channel for an interview. I liked these kinds of events; I liked to talk about my skating. Beth saw it from another perspective. She said presences in TV shows. definitely gets people’s attention on me, and that can help to build my career. Not to mention judges can know me better, and that could be really beneficial in the competitions.
Chapter 171 Easy life
The next time I had to compete was in the ISU Canada. After my achievements in the past, and in Las Vegas, surely I was one of the next olympics, but Beth hardly pushed me to finish in first place in the upcoming competitions. Actually, that was what I wanted as well. I was serious when I told Gideon I want to stop competing after the Olympic games, and certainly that would make me remember my skating career with happiness if I could finish this all as a gold medalist Olympian.
I finished a little earlier that day. Gideon got home about five o’clock in the morning. He did not text me yet, so I thought he was asleep. I did not want to disturb him, so I drove to the D’angeli mansion, I spent a little time with them. And when Alexandra took Matteo to put him to sleep after lunch, I could stay alone with Riccardo. And this time, like nearly always, he had the right question.
“What do you think about Nora? How do you get on with her?”

“I don’t know. Honestly. I don’t like her nor hate her. I mean, there is something about her which makes me not like her, but I might need to give it time.”
