Chapter 285: Unfinished Entanglement
Yvonne had always been introspective, never one to easily shift blame
onto others. Whether it was the breakdown of her marriage or her current situation, she was willing to take responsibility for her part rather than fault external influences.
She understood Jeremy’s feelings; he had explicitly told her that he liked her. But he had never tried to influence her decisions, especially regarding her marriage. His presence wasn’t the cause of the rift between her and Benson; it was a choice she made after deciding to sever ties with Benson completely.
Jeremy had made his feelings clear, yet he had never interfered with her choices, particularly her marriage. Yvonne had always known there was no reason to blame Jeremy for anything.
The differences between her and Benson had been discussed multiple times, and she didn’t want to repeat herself.

Benson stared intently at Yvonne, his emotions in turmoil. He didn’t want to appear too desperate, so he suppressed the anger burning inside him.
Calmly, he said, “Yvonne, you’ve come this far, and I don’t want to make things ugly. After the banquet, there’s something I need to say to you.”
As he spoke, he struggled to keep his emotions in check, fearing that he might lose control and put her in a difficult position once again.
After finishing his sentence, he forced himself to calm down and slowly turned away from Yvonne, trying to maintain a natural expression and avoid letting anyone notice the storm brewing inside him.
When Benson re–entered the banquet hall, the lights were still bright, the people mingling as if nothing had happened. Everyone wore friendly smiles, their manners graceful and impeccable, as if they were all wearing perfect masks.
But Benson no longer cared about socializing. His mind was still filled with thoughts of Yvonne, and his heart was a swirl of mixed emotions.
There was a time when Yvonne’s world revolved around him, when she had poured so much of her love into their relationship. But now, the tables had turned, and he was the one who couldn’t stop thinking about her.
That bitterness and frustration churned within him, making him wonder if Yvonne could ever love him with the same intensity again.

complacency . The banquet was just a brief moment of relaxation, with countless challenges still waiting to be faced.
Recently, everyone at Caesar Plaza had been working overtime, especially Raymond, who had poured all his energy into the grand reopening. Yvonne noticed this and felt deeply grateful.
She knew that Raymond and every employee at Caesar Plaza were dedicating their time and effort to the plaza’s success. As the boss, she didn’t just offer them raises and bonuses; she also did her best to support
their work and meet their needs.

As the night deepened, the quests began to leave, and the banquet hall gradually quieted down. Yvonne walked out with Megan and Raymond, the three of them side by side.

“Even though Caesar Plaza is positioned as a luxury shopping center, our service must remain friendly,” Yvonne said softly as they walked, her voice
firm.
“No matter who walks into our stores, they should be treated with warmth and courtesy. Even if they aren’t our customers now, who knows if they might become our important clients in the future?”
Raymond nodded, a look of agreement in his eyes. He understood that Yvonne’s philosophy was a significant factor in Caesar Plaza’s success
Though the plaza was high–end, its service couldn’t afford to be arrogant, Every customer who walked through the doors should feel respected and valued. This was one of the reasons Caesar Plaza stood out in a highly competitive market.
Megan smiled as she listened from the side. She knew that Yvonne’s
leadership style was always filled with warmth and humanity, one of the reasons she had always been willing to follow her. Yvonne wasn’t just an excellent boss; she also knew how to treat people well,
As they exited the hotel, Yvonne noticed a car window slightly lowered, with Benson in the driver’s seat, waiting for her.
She slowly approached, and after bidding Megan and Raymond goodbye, Yvonne accepted the file Megan handed her and got into Benson’s car.
The door closed gently, and Benson started the engine, driving steadily toward her home.
The atmosphere inside the car was tense. Even though the streets outside
were brightly lit, a shadow seemed to hang over the car’s interior.
The car stopped at Yvonne’s building, and Benson turned off the engine, taking a deep breath as if gathering his thoughts.
Yvonne broke the silence. “I’ve already told you about the divorce. I’ll repay the Taylor Group shares and the money you spent to bring Olivia back.”
Benson’s expression tightened, a flash of fatigue and discontent in his dark eyes.
“Yvonne, do you really want to settle everything so neatly, to cut off all ties? Don’t you want to owe me anything at all?”
Yvonne sighed, her voice tinged with a hint of helplessness. “Benson, we’re already divorced. You should understand that.”
Benson’s brows furrowed deeply, his voice filled with a mix of grief and frustration. “Was the divorce really my choice?”
He took a deep breath, his gaze reflecting deep pain and longing.
He had seen the best of Yvonne and had been deeply drawn to her.
Despite the misunderstandings and conflicts between them, he couldn’t deny his feelings for her.
His words were harsh, but they carried an undeniable tenderness and a plea.
“Yvonne, I’m changing, I’m trying. Can you give me a little more time? Don’t start seeing him now, please.”
