Patrick’s face turned pale.
“No, Vallerie, I know you’re just angry. I’ll love only you from now on.”
“Patrick, I once dreamed of a beautiful future for us, but you shattered it. Our child is gone because of your indifference. I tried to give you a chance, but…”
“Vallerie, I know I was wrong. Give me one more chance…”
I stood up. “Patrick, let me go. Let yourself go too. I’m leaving. I wish you happiness.”
I walked out, and as I reached the ground floor, I looked back. Patrick stood by the window, looking desolate.
But that had nothing to do with me anymore. I was going to pursue my own future, and it would be brilliant.
